Rotary Clubs from all over the World stepping up to help in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan

Phillpines Typhoon Aid

Thousands of Rotary clubs from all over the world set up special funds and began collecting donations and supplies that have arrived and keep arriving up to today, to help thousands of Filipino families affected by Typhoon Haiyan

Apart from contributing to ShelterBox, the international disaster response charity that is Rotary’s project partner for disaster relief,  Rotary Clubs have also pursued other venues, such as local fund-raisers, food and supply drives, or giving to other established relief agencies, such as the Red Cross/Red Crescent and the World Food Programme.

Rotary Clubs within the Philippines have contributed in the measure of their possibilities to mitigate the terrible consequences of the Typhoon in the disaster areas. Some updates can be found at the Facebook Pages of the Rotary International District 3860, the Rotary Club of Tacloban and many others linked from those outlets.

We’d like to take the opportunity to at least mention and thank all Rotary Clubs that have mobilized their resources to help in the aftermath of the disaster. Below you can see a very small list with some of the Rotary Clubs from outside the Philippines that have contacted us to offer their help or that have made news for their contributions in the relief efforts.  Chances are that your Club has probably helped in one way or another and isn’t listed here, but if you write us a note we’d love to hear about your efforts. Please leave us a comment here or at our Facebook Page. Thank you.
